Uber is ready to take you out to the ballgame.
The San Francisco-based company is now the official ride-sharing partner of the Detroit Tigers, the team announced this week.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
That means beginning Opening Day on Friday, there will be a designated pickup and drop-off zone near Comerica Park on the north side of the I-75 service drive, between John R and Brush streets.
“As the official ride of the Tigers, Uber is now a great option for baseball fans who want to focus on the game not how to get to and from the stadium,” Uber spokeswoman Charity Jackson said in a news release.
Those who haven’t yet had the Uber experience can download the mobile app to flag a ride or check out the company’s website for more information on how it works. First-timers who use the code TigersDetroit can get a free ride up to $15.
Last year, the Detroit Lions and Detroit Pistons announced similar deals with Uber. Both of those deals offer perks for users of Uber’s mobile app.
